Yesterday was a walking day, both before and after I got to the library and made that most recent post. Fairbanks is bigger than it looks on the map, but nevertheless I seem to have pretty well circumnavigated it on foot. I'd probably rather not do it again; there's long stretches of Boring Territory in between where I was staying and the downtown area, which is very, very compact. I did stop off for dinner at an Italian restaurant ("Geraldo's Italian-American Food - Say 'Yes' to Garlic!", complete with sign out front saying "AHHHNOLD LOVES GARLIC") rather than Senor Flannagan's Steak Pit. Oh well.

Today I don't really have much planned except a three and a half hour tour on the Riverboat Discovery. It's around four miles from where I am now; I'm debating walking vs. trying to rent a bike. Given that it's 10:45 now, it's probably going to be walking - if the bikes were returned yesterday they're almost certainly gone by now. I don't know how fast or slow I walk, but I think I'm going to head out around 11:30 - get myself some more film, then start migrating. I don't want to take chances with the 1:30 boarding time. After that I'll see if I can post again.

Tomorrow will be another trip to the LARS, this time to actually take the tour. Once again, must leave super-dee-duper early. Will do my best to get a photograph of the moose-crossing sign on Farmer's Loop Road, as I've already missed the Dog Musher Crossing sign (it was out towards Mary Shields' place and I can't get that far on foot or bike).
