LXG: Diary of a Mountie, Part Eight, Done Properly

I'm going to leave the old Part Eight up, as well as the post labeled Part The Same As Last Time, but I've since done a bit of editing on both pieces. You would probably do well to read this post from start to finish as I have had the time to correct a few mistakes. Doubtless I have installed others now that Part Eight is finished, but oh well.
