Hunting for Bambi, at my old favourite snopes.com has pointed out a number of problems with the supposed legitimacy of this business:
1. "Brass Eagle Inc., the leading paintball products company, has already asked Las Vegas city and country officials to investigate the purported Hunting for Bambi activities, as "the health and welfare of the women participants could be damaged or threatened by this undertaking.""
2. "Its putative parent company, Real Men Outdoor Productions, is indeed a registered Nevada corporation, but that in itself doesn't mean much, as anyone can register a business for a small fee."
3. "In fact, the address listed for Real Men Outdoor Productions corresponds to the address of another registered Las Vegas company, Clean Your Carpets Inc., whose corporate status has since been revoked."
4. "Perhaps more significant is that no business address or phone number is to be found on the Hunting for Bambi site, and several readers who expressed interest in booking a "hunt" have told us their e-mail inquiries to the Hunting for Bambi folks went unanswered." (Emphasis mine)
As for those who would point to the KLAS-TV piece proclaiming the business to be real... television stations have fallen for hoaxes hook, line and sinker before. The most notable to come to my mind is the supposed biography of Howard Hughes by novelist Clifford Irving; on a smaller scale, television stations not long ago accepted the word of a no-women-in-men's-games protester at the PGA tournament who claimed his name was "Jablome, first name Heywood". They've also claimed with straight faces that Oregon had hired a permanent Klingon interpreter for psychiatric patients when in fact all they did was insert 'Klingon' onto a list of languages for which it would be possible to temporarily contract an interpreter should the need arise.
Og pretty sure Hunt for Bambi fail to give proper way of contact Hunt for Bambi people because Hunt for Bambi not exist. Og not gonna bother get all mad and spitty over something probably not real.
