Looted Iraqi artefacts 'returned'

US customs agents working in Iraq say they have recovered thousands of items looted from the national museum in Baghdad following the fall of Saddam Hussein.

They report that about 40,000 manuscripts and 700 other artefacts have been retrieved after being stolen from the museum, which housed one of the Middle East's most comprehensive archaeological collections.

And many "missing" items were secretly stored in hidden vaults for safety shortly before the war began, the US Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) said in a statement. . .

All right, all right, I know it's not the whole thing and it's not even close to being the whole thing, but it's a start.

... so the next question is, how long do I keep living with my parents?

I love my folks, I really do, but I want to live somewhere else now. Roommates are fine, although I'd rather they be nonsmokers. I currently pay about $1500 a year in car insurance. I'd prefer to keep that from going up. I'd like to live somewhere within half an hour to an hour of Wayne, New Jersey, at least for the moment. Come September, I plan to start looking for another job; that may or may not be in the same geographical area. (If you want me to live near you for some reason, come up with a viable job listing starting in mid to late September for someone with an MIS master's, five years' experience in nonprofit IS/IT/systems administration, then come up with a place for me to live.) When I was asked to describe my dream apartment recently I said 'small, safe, somewhere my car won't get stolen, somewhere I can get cable, no bug problem, no mice'. I don't care about prestige and I don't care about looks, I just don't want to be robbed, stabbed, or worse.

Currently looking at the Lodi area, also Garfield. We'll see how it goes.

Hero Beyond the Boundary of Time arrived today. We'll see how it goes. I'm going into this with a very very low set of expectations; my brain still can't process the idea of Tony Leung as a eunuch. But we'll see.
