Dec. 8th, 2002 11:47 amHead hurts. Eyes hurt. Head stuffed. Mom has head cold.
Too bad I have to go shopping for Christmas presents today, huh? I could just stay home, get warm, and reluctantly work on my term paper otherwise... oh, well. I've eaten already - soy ravioli with pesto, one of my favourites - so all that really remains is to find a pair of socks. After that, well... the aforementioned obligations and one or two others. Then I come home and start cleaning up my crap in the basement. Then I come upstairs and deal with more crap in my own room. Then I work on my term paper.
There will be tea, at least. Tea's always a good thing when I'm ill. I'm one of the people who tends to believe that pouring vast quantities of the right tea down your gullet can cure quite a lot of what ails you. If nothing else, since my illnesses usually involve fevers, holding the mug of tea will warm up my hands.
That having been said, I must needs check the Williams-Sonoma web site. My sister registered there for her wedding, and she said that for Christmas, anything from the registry would be a good present. Buying her a wedding registry present for Christmas feels like buying a combination birthday/Christmas present for someone born in December, though, so I'm getting her some mittens that Mom said Ali said she wanted as a more personal gift. Then W-S or wherever else she's registered. Her fiance's getting a copy of A Bridge Too Far, as he's expressed fondness for war movies and movies where things blow up. ABTF is old enough that I doubt he owns it already, plus it's got Laurence Olivier, Gene Hackman, Anthony Hopkins, Robert Redford, and Sean Connery- among others - so it's at least got impressive star power.
