Nov. 30th, 2002 03:18 pmI just cut up one of my credit cards today. I was late with my most recent payment and my total owed was slightly more than the amount of my last car loan, which turned my stomach. (True, it was a used car and the loan was for maybe half the price of the car, but even so.) I'm not canceling the card, as I can't pay it off at one go, but at least I no longer have the physical card with which to pay for things. I will be attempting to make payments every pay period until I get the whole damn thing burnt off. Just wanted to say something about it here. It's a bit odd really, but I feel good overall.
In other news, NationStates is back up. There's a user limit in place; forty people can be online at one time. Tuonela's economy is still in the toilet, but our civil rights are Good and euthanasia's been legalized. We are, after all, the mythical Finnish realm of the dead. Of COURSE euthanasia is legal. It's practically immigration. We have formed an alliance with the second newest member of the Arctic Circle region, namely the nation of Non-Political Mac Fans; this should be fun.
That having been said, I'm off to see Treasure Planet and Die Another Day. I've had just about enough of researching XML standards for bio-informatics for my term paper. I will compile the term paper for my other class this evening or tomorrow, as I have 9 out of 10 pages already written; it just needs spiffing up. The XML paper isn't due for another week and a half and the prof has already seen my sources, so he knows I'm working on it. Treasure Planet ahoy.
