ouch, ouch, ouch...
Nov. 24th, 2002 03:38 pmWent shooting today. For those of you who don't know already, that means I went out with my Hoyt Custom Pro Recurve, which has about 40 pounds of pull at my draw length, and about five arrows. I haven't shot since summertime - since the New York Renaissance Faire, in fact. My own fault. I have a target, although I should probably replace it soon, and I have my own arrows, and there's a county archery field about 20 minutes from my house and a range even closer for indoor days.
Anyway, I meant to shoot for an hour. I shot for half an hour instead. Why? Well, my aim's not that good - big surprise, thanks to a lack of practice - but at least I was shooting consistently...
... without an arm guard...
... and hitting the same spot on my forearm with the bowstring every single time.
ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch... screw the breast thing the Amazons did, they should've just implanted steel under the skin of the forearm...
