Since I've

got to get to Kean early tonight so as to return a textbook to my friend before his first exam tonight (poor bastich, he's got four this week), I'm not taking lunch today. I've had a bag of Cheez-It Crackers, which isn't too bad. I'll stop at a Taco Bell or something on the way to school and snarf my protein pellets like a good little lab rat on the way.

Meantime I'm working through lunch, trying to get the fundraising database in order, and contemplating VicMage.Asia foo. I had had an initial plot in mind for my players - yes, Geoff, I know you can see this - but I'm not entirely sure it's quite right for the bunch I have at the moment. I'll have to see...

Ugh.

Midterm tomorrow night. Bio-informatics. Lots of string matching, lots of algorithms, lots of stuff on naive searches and suffix trees and Boyer-Moore and Knuth-Morris-Pratt. No coding questions, thank the gods, just pseudocode. I will be glad when the exam's over, I gotta say. I know the biology stuff like the back of my hand and I'm the only one in the class who does (INCLUDING the prof), but I could use a hand up on the stupid algorithmic part. Wish I'd got a better head for programming.

No Kiendo update tonight. Couldn't play B&W due to having class and studying for this. And yes, I came home and studied for an hour instead of going to karate class, that's how important this is to me.

On the other hand I DID get away with informing my entire class and prof today that my project in the MIS Capstone course (which, it seems, is what I must go through instead of writing a thesis - must confirm that) was the re-engineering of the hiring process for Virtucon... which you may or may not recognise as Dr. Evil's corporation in the Austin Powers movies. I'd said it was a fictional company before and all, but today I openly said it was the Austin Powers thing. Offered to change it (I was gonna do an analysis of Vatican II as process reengineering of the Roman Catholic Church) but the prof seems ok with this.

Will post end results when I get a grade on it.

Tried to buy potstickers for staff meeting tomorrow at Whole Foods. Found out they have to be boiled. Potstickers that get reheated the next day are kinda nasty; I may have to buy some at Maxim's in a big fat hairy hurry tomorrow if the staff meeting is, in fact, scheduled for then. I keep thinking it's scheduled for Wednesday...
