I went to the New York Renaissance Festival today, in Sterling Forest, New York. I've been doing this a few years now. Word of advice: carry a bow. A good one, if you can manage it. You get the most interesting conversations when you carry a bow, and they get even better if you know how to use it. I spent a biiiiig chunk of today either chatting with people about archery, or hanging about at the actual archery booth, showing people how to actually hold, draw, and use the bows there. Poor things, it was just sad to watch most of them... they got better over time, but even so, it was painful to see some of it.
Lost my dagger, despite it being peacebonded in. Spent some time drooling over a couple of the weapons booths as a consequence. At least it was only the dinkybutt $15 dagger I bought last time. Won't be a problem to replace.
Other than that not a whole lot to report. I know I had wanted to say something more interesting, but it doesn't appear to be coming through just now. Ah, well. I've got a rental copy of Beijing Bicycle that I'm watching, so I'm doing pretty well.
