Exterminator came today to check for evidence of infestation since last visit, which I think was a month ago (not really sure). Apparently Second Floor Neighbor has been getting REALLY upset about things and there's at least some kind of court proceedings involved.
I gotta say, though, having him move my stove away from the wall and examine the area, only to announce "No droppings. Not a lot of places can say that" was a damned satisfying moment. Same deal when he finished looking through all the places he'd put bait (and one place I reminded him had a bait station, but which he had forgotten about) and said, "No news is good news, right?"
I don't know what the situation is on lower floors, but at the request of the landlord's family, I wrote up a brief statement saying 'I haven't seen any indication of mouse activity in the apartment in the past four weeks' and sent it to them to go along with... well, whatever the exterminator's report says.
(So grateful I have a cat born to a feral mother who taught her kittens how to hunt. Keeping an apartment clean is one thing. Having a known predator who's actually caught rodents, not just batted them around as playthings, is much better.)
