Weekend activities: flight school, blowing my nose, sleeping late, buying cough and cold medication, blowing my nose some more, listening to the Hamilton soundtrack, reading Diamond: A Journey Into the Heart of an Obsession.

And now I cannot quite shake the image of the Les Miserables Millipups encountering a Lin-Manuel Miranda Hamilton...

I've been wondering how characters from modern-day America react to characters from Hamilton in a pandfandom RP setting. Do the modern Americans see them as looking like the old portraits of the Founding Fathers, or do they go "uh wtf I'm pretty sure George Washington was not a black dude"?

My guess is probably the 'wtf' reaction. Mostly because the characterizations of the musical are based on how the Fathers presented themselves in their writings, rather than how they actually acted (see: Thomas Jefferson). Since their behavior in the musical is often different from the way they had behaved in real life, I see no real reason for them to look the same as they did in real life, either.

and also I kind of treasure the idea of a modern American pup being told about the EPIC RAP BATTLES during cabinet meetings.

I'd love to see Hamilton just for EPIC RAP BATTLES. XD However, since I can't, I've also avoided listening to the soundtrack so that I don't torment myself of what I can't watch (I do that enough with the Scarlet Pimpernel musical as it is).

I admit, I'd probably be happier if I actually saw Hamilton, but I'm willing to settle for the full two-disk soundtrack and pretending it's an extended radio program. Not like it's gonna be taking a road production to the Boston area any time soon.

At least physical proximity means you have a better chance at seeing it than me, assuming it's still playing if you decide to take a weekend or something to go. (Is it still playing? I wasn't clear on that.)

Looks like it is. I'd probably have to buy a ticket for several months out to stand a chance, though.
