Yeah, for my check ride (the one with the FAA examiner in the other seat) I have to be able to successfully complete an autorotation on a straight course and one involving a ninety degree (I think) turn- which makes things interesting because turning without engine power tends to drop your airspeed and raise your rotor RPM, and you need to keep your rotor RPM within pretty strict bounds until you're very close to the ground. I think they both have to involve me landing within 100 feet of my target landing zone, too. It's gonna be interesting actually having the controls when I do that. Hopefully not in a Hoban Washburne kind of way.
