Jun. 22nd, 2014 05:44 pmHad another flight lesson today. This one had hover practice, then a flight from North Andover to Newburyport and back so I could practice turning, descents/climbs, determining wind direction based on local wind turbines and windsocks, etc. At one point we were something like 1750 feet up- I think, anyway, it may have been a bit less- and I asked how far we could see from where we were.
Turned out the things on the horizon to the west were the White Mountains in New Hampshire and the big thing in the far distance to the right was Mount Katahdin in Maine. Mt. Washington was visible, too, if you looked in the right direction. So that was pretty cool.
The instructor has told me not to apologize for anything I do in training because everyone makes mistakes and that is part of learning. I am good with this. I am also amused by the fact that he has fewer issues with me saying "Shit! Shit!" than "Sorry! Sorry!".
