New video game

New for me, anyway. I just bought Black and White... it's driving me nuts. The interface, I mean. I'm not the most coordinated of HUMANS, so being a god is a clumsy thing - I accidentally dropped one of the Gate Stone candidates onto the village sculptor's house, and by the time he got finished carving it, the house had been mended and I had to bash it open again to get at the stone. Can't seem to find the sheep guy's sheep, either. I plan on repeatedly reloading the game from my first save until I can get things right, because it's one matter to be a Dark and Sinister God and another to be the God Who Saves Four Out Of Five, the God Who Smashes Things Then Helps Rebuild Them, or the God Whose Cow Poops In The Village Then Kicks Sheep. Yes, I picked the cow for my creature instead of the tiger or the ape. He's appealing. No, I don't want to be the Dark and Sinister God, I'm just saying there's a difference between deliberately squashing people and accidentally dinging things up. I want to go for a benevolent godhood, at least at first. We'll see about human sacrifice later. Once I get some enemies. I wanna be nice as I can to my people because there is no dictatorship like a benevolent one.

Mind you I have homework to do as well, but this is a nice change of pace from trying to code in Perl. Not that I'd say no to a bit of assistance if someone had some to offer - in either Perl or B&W.

I just tried to scroll down the screen using the B&W mouse commands. Bleah. I gotta go to church and get food now.

What, for being a clumsy god?

Heh... I reloaded the game and managed to avoid smashing in my sculptor's roof. I've also made some other changes, but I'll post about that separately. Currently waiting on a strategy guide I bought at eBay in the hopes of getting things to work in an Extra Spiffy fashion.
