camwyn: Me in a bomber jacket and jeans standing next to a green two-man North Andover Flight Academy helicopter. (cultural whackitude)

*sigh*

[livejournal.com profile] lots42 asked, 'what would your favourite fandom be like if it took place a hundred years earlier?'.

My stupid brain answered.

Ghostbusters 1884 would involve an utterly chaotic New York City full of ghosts, a smooth-talking scholar with a predilection for gambling, an old buddy of his from Switzerland who had the most amazing ideas imaginable about quantifying and understanding the truth about spirits through the development of etheric science, an educated Black man whose frustration at the casually idiotic attitudes of most of the public led him to finance the Swiss guy and his gambling buddy (they sounded like a good investment), a young, severely deranged architect who'd served as a physician in one too many European wars, and Harold Ramis in a long black duster and cowboy hat. I don't CARE what his part would actually be. I just love that image.

I HAVE OTHER THINGS TO WRITE FIRST, THANK YOU, BRAIN.

No, but... *dies* ;D

There wouldn't be a visual of Harold Ramis on the net, in that duster and cowboy hat, would there? I've never seen it...

Like more Hellblazer/HP?
Maybe please?

I can't see John endearing himself to anyone on his first day. Or any other. He is, as he says, the king of all bastards, which is why we love him. I rather suspect that John being endearing (or, perish the thought, sweet) would be like anti-matter meeting matter.

YAY! I'm not a huge fic person, but in the case of that series my fandom iz pazted on!
I found it & sat there & read thru the whole thing in one sitting a couple of weeks ago LOL

I like that idea. I've often toyed with with the notion Sailor Moon 1892 and I think I showed you my Star Wars: Gaslight idea.

For those curious, a member of the Sith as they would look in Star Wars: Gaslight

I never drew anything else since I couldn't really come up with a story that would justify that kind of time

Not now you don't. I need a story for the fanart I'm going to create for this. The idea of Victorian Proton Packs justs floats my little steampunk boat. DO IT!

(first project: Ramis in full duster).

Whoa, that sounds incredible!

Oh my god.

Steampunk Ghostbusters. Holy crap.

How dare you give me that image? HOW DARE YOU?!

I have work to do! I can't run another game right now...

My favorite fandom (the TU) spans roughly 200 years. One of the other writers on the Trinity Storytellers Handbook is including, in his chapter, an alternative campaign setting in which Trinity's psions appear in the early 21st century instead of the early 22nd, taking the place of Aberrant's novas (of which latter [livejournal.com profile] md_donighal is one).

Can it be only about fifty years earlier? Because I've long wanted to write a campaign frame in which the Inspiration Age of Adventure! (the 1920s game), instead of ending in the forties, segues into an early Nova Age.

Harold Ramis in a long black duster and cowboy hat.

I shall now go to my grave happy with that image in my head.
