Ah, I've waited this long, I can wait a bit longer. I learned what pathetic electronics I know through researching mercury-arc rectifiers, which means that my knowledge is firmly grounded in 1941.
That's keen. I particularly like the theme of the circuits, over and above the providing of the parts and stuff.
I still have at least a few of the books, and a gym bag full of busted up tape decks and such that parts could be desoldered from, etc., from back when I was into hobby electronics, before I realized that I liked writing programs (and, even more so, running/administering systems) than I liked all the scarier parts of the Electrical Engineering degree, and punted for Computer Science.
Actually, I wasn't even really all that good an electronics hobbyist, 'cause I couldn't ever really get it together to try etching my own PCBs for making circuits. The book knowledge has occasionally come in handy in other contexts, though, so it's at least been worth it anyway.
I'd settle for just a teleportational portal. Y'know, one point to another around the world, let alone going across dimensions.
My primary want for anything involving playing around with dimensions would be to have a TARDIS. I wouldn't even necessarily need the time travel capability. Just having a dimensionally transcendental space to live in and store my stuff, that I could move the much smaller interface police call box/roman column/etc. from one place to another would be good enough.
(The main trick would be getting together the Eye of Harmony which serves as combination power source and dimension-altering workshop for constructing TARDISes. Given that the EoH is a black hole, that might be tricky. I thought I'd found something that might do the job, except that no one really wanted to have anything to do with a vehicle constructed/powered by the tank pump from my last apartment's toilet. So, back to the drawing board.)

I think I'm afraid.
Impressed.
But afraid.

There's a soldering iron and a multimeter in the order from Abra...

(Right, time to start up the Computer Interfaces for Evil Technologies project...)

Would this be a good time to mention I have the perfectly matched focusing crystals for the Big Evil Sciency Death Laser?

I call dibs on your first, interdimentional portal!

I could use a soldering iron; I need to do some repairs to some stuff in the room. PLUS the circuitry...dang, Og, you're making me drool now.
