Did not get any furniture work done last night. May not get it done today either as I have network stuff to do tonight that may not see me out of the office until 9 PM, and I have no very great desire to get home around 10 and go straight into a room full of chemicals and sandpaper. Rest of the week's open, though.
Got a bit farther in X-COM. Could probably take on the Temple Ship mission if I really wanted. Actually, I probably could've done that a while ago, but I wanted to go through all the DLC missions I hadn't seen yet first. I am less than thrilled with Annette as an NPC; while her stats are not bad, having someone complain "When do I get to shoot an alien?" two out of every three times I order her to move somewhere gets old fast. Even if the bloodlust is completely justified it's really annoying. Also, there was a mission called "Furies" in which we rescued three people who had been abducted by aliens. They joined XCOM and got nicknames same as everyone else who reaches the appropriate rank; they're Megaera, Tisiphone and Alecto. Which would be excellent choices if two out of three of them weren't men. Is there something you two gents want to tell the team psychologist?
(Mind you, the Achievement you get for completing the Furies mission is "Ours Are The Furies", so somebody at Firaxis has a clue about their target audience's tastes in other entertainment. Just... if you're going to assign the names of the mythological Furies to randomly generated characters, you might want to code them so that they all randomly generate female.)
