the people across the street are redoing their roof. all the shingles have been stripped off.

I did not know how quickly that could be done. Or how much noise it made.

Or how much hammering was involved int he next steps.

or what the thing that sounds like a leafblower is for.

I am buying guitarist-approved or drummer-approved soundproofing curtains for this room.



.... did I mention our return-to-office date has been moved up to January 18th? Because we'll be working from home until at least January 18th.

Hopefully if it has been going on that quickly, it will go away just as fast.

I am glad that living so far out in the country, whenever I am making construction noise, that there are few, if any, that can even hear it.

Yes, I see now that the regular barrage of engine noise could be undesirable. I raised my children along the final approach along one of the flight paths (28R) at the Pittsburgh Airport. Closed windows did help substantially, but many summers taught us to lip-read or temporarily suspend neighborhood chit chat until it had passed. Funny thing though, after a while most seemed to become immune, or at least not notice the jets quite as much.
