Looking at various soap molds today, since a design other than 'sliced rectangle' probably holds more visual appeal. I'm kinda tempted to get one with bees on it for future batches of honey-beeswax soap, assuming that works out well for the people who use it. Not sure what I'd do for a shampoo bar, though. Maybe just oval.

Also going over various sites about perfuming and essential oil blends and whatnot, just to see what I can find about the best way to sort these things out. For something like the honey-beeswax soap it's simple- HERE HAVE ORANGE and oh yeah cedar. For something like the shampoo, I need to work the details out a bit more. Most people who've sniffed the cinnamon-clove-ginger shampoo very much liked the smell, but I've had one report of it smelling awful after a trip through the post. Don't know if that's the case all around or if it's a case of personal biochemistry being different, but either way tweaking the balance of cinnamon versus clove should alter that, plus I may want to put actual ginger essential oil in instead of ginger powder or grated ginger. The other shampoo bar has pine, cedar, and eucalyptus and the end result was weirdly anise for me, so I wanna balance that scent out properly...

dear high school AP chemistry teacher who was the worst AP teacher I have ever had for anything ever, screw you. I've decided to be an alchemist instead.

If you decide to go whimsical, I wonder if cookie cutters and baking shapes might work for your soaps? Of course you likely wouldn't want to cook with the "mold" once you've used it for soaps.

I had a lime, bergamot, and cedar bar that I *adored* that the etsy person I bought it from has long since disappeared, and I wish someone else would make one :D

I'd think one mold that's the same for all types, with your sigil on it. But then again, it would be easier to remember the type you have it there's something about the mold that's unique for that scent, so that people will be able to buy the same type again. I dunno.

I am liking the pine/basil/ceder shampoo bar, and will hopefully be able to send you email with some of your questions answered, soon.

"Plain rectangle" seems to be fairly common - possibly because they pack nicely when shipping multiples. (And perhaps because some soap-making processes create larger logs, then cut them down, thus naturally tending to rectangles?) Perhaps something that would let you put a sigil / imprint on a rectangle if you needed variation?

I'm not too concerned about the original shape, honestly. So maybe I'm not the best input ... but it is easier to pack multiples if that's a concern, if they're rectangular or square.

I've found that natural woody scents tend to not react well with my body chemistry; I LOVE the scent of them but when washing with them, not so much.

As for shapes, rectangles are fine with me, and it would make it easier to pack. Maybe you could find some way to "melt" a brand into each bar after cutting??
