Apparently the reason that my undercarriage was not sore most of the day is because I was not exerting actual pressure upon it. In the interests of maintaining some fitness-type activity, I took the bike out today to go to the supermarket- not the one three blocks away, nor the one a full PATH stop away, but one near the Hoboken border that I'd only seen in passing before. As soon as I got a leg over that thing... yeah, ow.

Went away once I resettled my weight, at least.

1.4 miles out, some time spent poking around the supermarket, 1.4 miles back with the ill-balanced bags dangling from my wrists (I have gotta rig up that carrier). Then I had to get the food and the bike up the stairs. memo to self: TWO TRIPS, YOU IDIOT. Groceries first. Bike LATER.

We're back and unharmed now, though the bike's bottle holder lost a bolt (my fault- I used it to brace the U-lock). I will post pictures of the bike after I have had dinner, I think.

When you get the rack on, get a pair of pannier baskets for the rack. Convenient for groceries, and they make even such a cool bike as yours look ever-so-much less like thief bait. I live in the Bike Theft Capital of the Universe*, and I know how to disguise thief-bait, lemme tell ya.

*That would be Toronto, in case any of you New Yorkers have delusions of grandeur in that department.
