I'll freely admit that humans are social animals, but there's a difference between social and eusocial. Even wolves get to spend time away from the pack, and have means of enforcing that. We're not naked mole rats, dammit (the only colony mammals that I know of). Humans don't function well if they're deprived of the time to hear themselves think.
