Given a day off from work and no All-Consuming Menace on the horizon or other such responsibilities, could you honestly picture him spending the day at the library, or in any form of intellectual pursuit whatsoever? He's clever and intelligent, but I don't think cleverness / learning / what have you is what really defines him.
