Exhausted.

Ex-frickin'-hausted. I got a reasonable amount of sleep last night, though probably not enough; I woke up this morning to find it was already warmer than I really like. At lunchtime I went out to my car to go to the comic book store in Cedar Grove and was forcibly reminded of why I paid $900 less than book value for my car: no air conditioning. Bought a slice of white pizza and ate it while reading Way of the Rat #4 (brilliant comic, absolutely brilliant, if you like VicMage.Asia and you have the patience for dealing with relatively new comic series you should probably give it a look). Drove back to office, by which time my vest or sleeveless shirt or whatever the hell this thing is was sticking to my back with sweat. (Again, no a/c in the car.) Am now digesting dairy-heavy slice of pizza, dealing w/aftereffects of heat, worrying about whether my database tending has been good enough to satisfy the auditors AND my official boss and the other woman who gives me so many things to do I"m surprised I don't have a dotted line to her on the bloody org chart. Wanna sleep. Wanna get out of these shoes, which are big enough & wide enough across the toes but not designed for wear without pantyhose. (Which I'm NOT gonna wear on a day like today.)

I'm going to listen to the soundtrack I made up for the ruler of the Ten Thousand Islands in Vm.A for the rest of the afternoon. Most of that isn't the kind of music you can sleep through unless you're just this side of dead. I'll get the letters that were supposed to have gone out on Friday signed later, the signatory is busy with the auditors right now. (We get audited annually, and have been getting audited annually since as long as I've worked for the Red Cross - up yours, Bill O'Reilly, we DO have financial procedures that keep track of where the money goes and make sure it's doing what it's supposed to!) Tonight I have karate, but first I have to get some selzer for my sister, along with some tissues - she's still sick. Then I have to buy dinner, which I'm not gonna eat until after karate, because we do yoga beforehand and bending completely in half while lying on your back means you get reminded of what you last ate, very forcibly.

In the meantime I have to finish the workday. And not fall asleep or something.

On the bright side I have volume 3 of The Storm Riders, I just have to buy volume 2 from somewhere... whoo!
